Notes for Arthur Calbraith Jr. DORRANCE

Retired attorney Arthur C. Dorrance Jr., the son of a former president of Campbell Soup Co., died Sunday in the retirement community of Dunwoody Village in Newtown Square, Delaware County. He was 70.
Dorrance retired in 1984 as a partner in the Philadelphia law firm of Dechert, Price & Rhoads after 34 years as a specialist in estate planning and settlement.
His father was president of the Camden-based soup company from 1930 to 1946. His uncle, John T. Dorrance Sr., invented condensed soups in 1897.
Arthur Dorrance Jr. attended Harvard and was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He was a captain in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Dulty Smith; two sons, Arthur C. III and Bradford; a brother; and seven grandchildren.
