Notes for William Lincoln WILLITS

WILLITS, WILLIAM LINCOLN, 87, of St. Petersburg, died Friday (March 7, 2003) at Bayfront Medical Center. Born in Chester, Pa., he came here in 1973 from Concordville, Pa., where he was a member and treasurer of Concord Religious Society of Friends for many years. He was a graduate of Pennsylvania State University. After graduation, he operated a farm and was the owner of a wholesale mushroom company. He was a director of the Concord Township School District for more than 30 years. He was a director of the National Bank of Malvern, Pa., for more than 20 years and served a president from 1978 to 1981. He was a member of Pasadena Yacht and Country Club and was an avid golfer and boater. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Lydia Highley Willits; two daughters, Barbara W. Shipp and Lydia W. Bartholomew, both of West Chester, Pa.; a sister, Betty W. Schroeder, Fort Myers; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Gulfport Memorial Funeral Home.
