Notes for Evelyn BAILEY
Evelyn B. Pownall, 98, of Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community and formerly of Quarryville, entered into rest on Tuesday, Dec. 2.
Born in Ortonville, MI, she was the daughter of the late Fredrick Hall and Almira Leece Bailey. Her husband, the late Wilmer Charles Pownall, died in 1947. Evelyn worked as a secretary for the Solanco School District before retiring. She was a member of Quarryville Memorial United Methodist Church.
Surviving is a son, Walter C. Pownall and his wife Peggy F. of Quarryville, and a daughter, Linda P. Parker and her husband Donald C. of La Plata, Md., along with five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Three brothers and one sister preceded Evelyn in death.
Funeral Services were on Dec. 6 Dewald Funeral & Cremation Services, 227 West Fourth Street in Quarryville. Interment was in Eastland Friends Burying Grounds.
