Notes for Calvin Warner SWAYNE

SWAYNE, CALVIN "BUD" - died peacefully at home on December 4, 2012 surrounded by his family. He was born in Camden NJ August 14, 1927. Bud graduated from William Jewell College in Liberty MO and served as Staff Sargent out of Camp Kilmer during WWII. He was the past president and member of the Southern Regional High School, School Board during the 1960's and 70's and he was a long time member and past president of the Surf City Zoning Board. Bud earned Salesman of the year many times during his career as a hardware salesman for Tryon Supplee Biddle Steltz Hardware Company and Masback Hardware Company. He founded the Stafford Bridge Club and was the director for many years and was a Gold Life master with the ACBL. He and Lee were winter residents of Fort Myers FLA for 31 years. He is survived by his dearly loved wife of 61 years Shirley "Lee" Swayne, two children, Dr. Lawrence Swayne and wife Carol of Basking Ridge NJ, Linda Swayne Lukacs and husband Larry of Coatesville PA, four grandchildren: Beverly Swayne, Kathryn Thompson and husband Andrew; Brian Swayne and William Lukacs and wife Bethany; one great grandson, Oliver Thompson. Bud is now reunited with his parents and grandparents in heaven. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 16 at 4pm at Bayside Chapel in Barnegat NJ. A private family interment will be at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
