Notes for Richard N. SPENCER

Richard N. Spencer Sr., 91, of Folcroft, Pa., died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at the Seasons Hospice At Christiana Hospital, Newark, Del.
He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth Martin Spencer, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage.
Born in West Grove, he was a son of the late Norman D. and the late Bertha (Grevell) Spencer.
Richard was a 1939 graduate of Unionville High School.
He worked for many years as a dairy farmer on the family farm in Unionville into the 1960s. Over his career, he worked for Gulf Oil Refinery, as the production control manager for Reynolds Metals Co. in Chester, retiring in 1983, and finally at Taylor Hospital in Ridley Park.
He was a 62-year member of the Skerrett #343 F&AM Masonic Lodge in Cochranville. He was also inducted into the Old Timers Baseball Hall of Fame in Kennett Square in 2003.
Loved ones, in addition to his wife, surviving include one daughter, Kim K. Smith (Bruce) of Cochranville; one son, Richard N. Spencer Jr. (Donna) of Bear, Del.; two brothers, William "Bill" Spencer (Marsha) of Oxford and Robert "Bob" Spencer (Peggy) of Mount Alto, Pa.; eight grandchildren, Beth Castaldi (Joe), Bruce Smith (Stacy), Kimberly Guindon (Jeffrey), Christine Smith (Alan Barton), and Heather, Ashley, Richard III and Raymond Spencer; and six great-grandchildren, Jessica Smith, Courtney Castaldi, Ashlyn Smith, Spencer Guindon, Parker Guindon and Lily Ann Smith Barton.
