Notes for John Davis Jr. PRATT

John D. Pratt Jr., 89, of Elizabethtown, died on Saturday, May 17 at the Masonic Village Health Center in Elizabethtown.
Born in Leetonia, Pa., he was the son of the late John and Vallie Muchler Pratt. He was the husband of Elizabeth "Libby" Hickman Pratt. They celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary last September.
A 1947 graduate of the Drexel Institute of Technology, he worked for Bituminous Service of West Chester for 40 years as a business manager, where he retired in 1980.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was stationed in India as a 1st Lieutenant for Company C of the 1007th Engineer Special Service Battalion and continued his service in the Army Reserve earning the rank of captain.
Mr. Pratt was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of West Chester, serving as an elder and teacher until December 2004 when he and his wife moved to the Masonic Village.
He enjoyed singing in the 49er's chorus.
Mr. Pratt served the community in numerous leadership roles with the PTA, the Boy Scouts and served as a 32nd degree Mason in the F & AM Masonic Chapter as well as the Howell Royal Chapter.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Pratt Crane and Lauretta Pratt Becker; a son John IV; four grandsons; and a granddaughter.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 21 at the First Presbyterian Church in West Chester.
