Notes for Phillip Reilly BUFFINGTON
Phillip Reilly Buffington of Wilmington, Del. On Sept. 17, 1964 born to the loving couple of William "Bill" Buffington (d.9/17/07) and Mary Reilly Buffington, Phillip Reilly Buffington entered the world. He joined the family of his three older sisters Lois, Kathy and Ginne. Phil had two sons with his first wife Alicia Broomall: Andrew and David. Phil worked in the lab of the Borough of West Chester's Waste Water plant for approximately 15 years where he had great co-workers and a strong commitment to his job and often lost the football pool. Phil enjoyed coaching and managing KAU little league teams and watching his boys play sports for many years. Phil was an active volunteer with the Kennett Area Community Service since the early 1970's. Phil enjoyed making everyone laugh and he did so with his quick wit and great sense of humor. Phillip and Laurie Pascal Gillam met in 2006. They married on April 18, 2008 and lived happily ever after in Wilmington Del. During the early morning hours of November 14, 2012, Phil breathed his last breath and died in his sleep at home. His loves were his family, cruising and Philadelphia sports. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his two sons, Andrew William Buffington and David Robert Buffington both of West Grove; a step- son, Michael Gillam Jr. of Stafford, Va.; three sisters, Lois Buffington Steele and her husband Jim of Wilmington, Del. and Kathleen Buffington Shappell and her husband Bob of West Grove; a sister Virginia Buffington Ramirez and her husband Ken of Wilmington, Del.; a niece Amy Vandercapellen, and nephews, Brian Shappell and Michael Steele, and his gurlie Lulu. You are invited to visit with Phillip's family from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19th and 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home (610-444-4116), 250 W. State St. Kennett Square, PA 19348. His funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday. Interment will be in Longwood Cemetery. Published in The Daily Local on November 16, 2012
