Notes for Lois BUFFINGTON

Lois B. Steele of Wilmington, Del. Lois B. Steele, 63, passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2015. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 45 years, James P. Steele; her son, Michael J. Steele and his family; her mother, Mary R. Buffington; sisters, Kathleen B. Shappell (Robert) and Virginia B. Ramirez (Kenneth), several nieces and nephews, two stepsons and a great grandniece and great grandnephews. Lois was preceded in death by her father, William Buffington; a sister, Mary Susan Buffington and a brother, Phillip R. Buffington. She worked as a sign language interpreter. Lois was a member in good standings for over 48 years at the Kennett Grange #19. She was a Deaf Activities Director for the PA State Grange and was currently the Lecture of the Chester County Pomona Grange. She was also a member of the Registry of Interpreters of the Deaf, Inc (RID), the national organization. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the nearest deaf center, in Lois’s name. A viewing will be held on Friday, November 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Homes (Talleyville) 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, Del. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 14 at 10 a.m. at St. John the Beloved, 905 Milltown Rd., Wilmington, DE 19808. Burial will follow at Birmingham Lafayette Cemetery, West Chester, Pa.
