Notes for Irwin Ferdinand III MEGARGEE

IRWIN F. MEGARGEE, 78, of Ocean City, died Wednesday at Shore Memorial Hospital in Somers Point.
Mr. Megargee was co-owner of the trade magazine Package Engineering from 1956 to 1971. He and his wife were co-owners of Megargee Coffee Service in Ocean City from 1971 to 1993.
He was a member of St. Augustine's R.C. Church, where he served as a lector for 30 years, as well as president and vice president of the parish council.
He was a charter member of the Sierra Club of Cape May County.
He was a Coast Guard veteran of World War II.
Born in Philadelphia, he was an area resident for 46 years.
Surviving are his wife, Althea; four sons, William of Newfield, Michael and Edward, both of Ocean City, and Stephen of Chestnut Hill, Pa.; two daughters, Althea Daley of Mahopac, N.Y., and Kathleen of Harrisburg, Pa.; and 10 grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Augustine's R.C. Church, 13th Street at Wesley Avenue, Ocean City, where friends may call 30 minutes earlier.
Burial will be in Seaside Cemetery, Upper Township, under the direction of Godfrey Funeral Home of Ocean City.
