Notes for Barbara Fenwick GARRETT

Barbara Fenwick Garrett Brown of Elizabethtown (formerly of Springfield Delaware County) passed into Eternal Light in the early morning hours of Saturday July 25, 2015 at Lancaster General Hospital in the loving company of her husband of 60 years Stuart, daughter Virginia, son Scott and his wife Diane, and granddaughter Catherine and family. The family would like to thank the ICU staff for their professional grace, care and guidance during a trying and emotional time.

She, Barbara is survived by her husband of 60 years Stuart Leslie Lesley Brown; children Virginia Schlegel and husband Gary of Catasauqua PA, Robert and his wife Erin of Howell NJ, and Scott and his wife Diane of Bristol PA; and grand children Thomas and Kimberly Schlegel, and Kimberly Schlegel, Christopher and Catherine Brown. She was preceded in death by her brother Albert N. Garrett III of Colorado Springs, CO.

Barbara was born in 1932 in Springfield, Delaware County, to Albert N. Garrett Jr. and Katherine (McCandless) at 37 Wayne Avenue. She graduated from Springfield Delco High School in 1950 and was active in their Club 51 reunion organization from 1990 until her passing.

She became a resident of The Masonic Village of Elizabethtown in May ’02. She was an active volunteer member of the community. Perhaps her favorite thing of all was making baby blankets for Project Linus. She crocheted 54 blankets in all; many done almost entirely by feel as macular degeneration slowly took her vision.
