Notes for William Shipley III TAYLOR
William Shipley Taylor, 81, of Kailua-Kona, died Aug. 17 at a Kailua-Kona care facility. Born March 14, 1927, in Philadelphia, he was an insurance agent and bondsman for various insurance companies and former Lake Chelan City councilman. He was also president of Keauhou Punahele Home Owners Association, former member of Kai Opua and Keauhou Canoe Clubs, Lay Reader, Senior Warden and Vestry Member of Christ Church Episcopal in Kealakekua, member of Bremerton Elks Club, Brain Injury Support Group of Kona, Hospice board member and a veteran of the Army and Navy.
Friends may call at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25, at Christ Church Episcopal in Kealakekua for an 11 a.m. service. Refreshments and sharing time to follow at the church reception hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Kona or Christ Church Episcopal.
He is survived by wife, Pat Taylor, of Kailua-Kona; son, George (Carol) Taylor, of Palmer, Alaska; daughters, Deborah (Lee Torgeson) Taylor, of Auburn, Wash., Pegi (Ray) Glenn, of East Wenatchee, Wash.; sister, Rebecca Reynolds, of Bremerton, Wash.; four grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
