Notes for John M. NARVEL

John M. Narvel, 83, a retired electrician who was active in his church, died May 27 at his home in Coatesville.
Mr. Narvel was born in Coatesville and was a 1925 graduate of Coatesville High School. He was a resident of Coatesville his entire life.
He worked as an electrician, first at the Frankford Arsenal in Philadelphia during World War II and later for the Du Pont Co. in Wilmington. He retired in the early 1970s.
He was a member of the Olivet United Methodist Church, Coatesville, which he joined in 1918. He was a trustee of the church's board and was on the property committee. He also was an usher and a member of the church's Wesley Bible Class and the Methodist Men, and formerly served on the administrative board of the church.
In addition to volunteering much of his time to the church, Mr. Narvel was an active member of the Coatesville Senior Center.
He is survived by his wife, Caroline Greenwood Narvel; a son, Jack G. Narvel; a brother, and four grandchildren.
A funeral was held Tuesday in the Olivet United Methodist Church, Coatesville. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Coatesville.
