Notes for Roberta E. ASHBRIDGE
Roberta E. 'Betty' Ashbridge McKenzie, 76, of Secane, died April 7 at Taylor Hospital in Ridley Park.
Born in Chester, Mrs. McKenzie was a resident of Secane for seven years. She previously lived in Darby.
She was a sales clerk at Rodgers Women's Apparel in Chester for 20 years, retiring in 1979.
Previously, she was employed with the University of Pennsylvania.
She enjoyed her weekly hairdresser appointment, shopping trips to the mall, visiting New York and Long Beach Island, sunbathing and cleaning.
Also, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the widow of Michael J. "Joe" McKenzie, who died in 2006.
She was the daughter of the late Edward and Nana B. Welsh Ashbridge, and the sister of the late Nana Viola Phippin, who died in 1988.
Survivors: Daughter, Roberta Lynn Mola of Secane; son, Richard Graves of Florida; stepsons, Joseph McKenzie of Salina, Kan., and John McKenzie of Brandon, Fla.; stepdaughters, Kathleen McKenzie of Broomall and Susan Argondezzi of Norristown; sister, Jean Robertson of Folsom; brothers, Edward Ashbridge Jr. of Bear, Del., and Robert Ashbridge of Virginia; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Burial: SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Marple.
