Notes for Robert DARLINGTON

In 1764 Robert Darlington was assessed in East Caln with one hundred and thirty acres and buildings, seventy acres of woodland, four horses, five cattle and six sheep. Letters of administration on his estate were granted 6 June 1777, to his eldest son, Joseph Darlington, his sureties being Robert Lockart and Archibald Irwin. In 1788 his sister Mary White petitioned the Orphans' Court for a division of her father's estate and it was awarded that Grace Irwin's heirs should have one-fourth, those of Robert Darlington two-fourths and Samuel and Mary White the other fourth part. Robert Darlington left six children.
