John Herbert Hollingsworth "Jack"

Jack Hollingsworth, 82, of Chestertown, MD, died on Friday, November 14, 2008, of complications from Parkinson's Disease.
He was the son of the late Herbert E. Hollingsworth and Janice Southerland Hollingsworth. Jack graduated from Wilmington Friends School and Lehigh University. Before retiring in 1993, he owned and operated a number of prominent family businesses in Newark, DE, including Hollingsworth Supply Co., Hollingsworth Construction Co., Holly Oil Co., and Eastern Marine. Jack moved to Chestertown in 1973 to pursue his passion for boating and love of the Chesapeake Bay. He was a member of the Chester River Friends Meeting in Chestertown.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Hollingsworth. He is survived by 2 sons, Herbert F. Hollingsworth of Porter, ME, and John W. Hollingsworth of Newark, DE; 3 daughters, Marie H. Lawrence of Raleigh, NC, Dorothy H. Bailey of Elkton, MD, and Jean H. Long of Macon, GA; his brother, David S. Hollingsworth of Wilmington, DE, and 8 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10 am, at the Chester River Friends Meeting in Chestertown. Private interment will follow at the New Garden Friends Meeting in Toughkenamon, PA.
