Notes for George William MAULE

George W. Maule, 89, formerly of Cochranville, died Saturday at the Southern Chester County Medical Center following a two-year illness.
A retired farmer, he and his wife owned and operated Valley Acres Farm in Cochranville.
He was the husband of Mary Louise Jackson Maule. They had been married 60 years May 8. For 10 years, they resided at Ware Presbyterian Village in Oxford.
Born in Quarryville, he was a son of the late Norman C. and Edna Pyle Maule. A graduate of Quarryville High School, he attended Penn State University.
Involved in community activities, he was volunteered for Octorara Meals on Wheels, was a charter member of the Cochranville Golden Ages club, was a former Boy Scout Scoutmaster, and was a member and past master of the Fernwood Grange.
He also was active with the Interstate Milk Producer Co-op and with Agway, and was on the authority board of the Octorara School District.
He was a member of the Guernsey Breeders Association, the Masonic Lodge, Colerain Literary Society, Quarryville Community Mens Chorus and Bart Historical Society, and was active with Oxford Friends Meeting.
Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Teddie, wife of Douglas Stalb of Charleston, S.C., and Betsy, wife of Karl Zentner of Los Angeles; a son, Walter of Atlanta; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard P. and Norman C.
