Notes for Dorothy Quay FRANKS

Dorothy 'Dorrie' Sellers of Berwyn Dorothy "Dorrie" Sellers, 77, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 24, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Bryn Mawr, she was the daughter of the late Robert Augustus and Grace Franklin Franks. Dorrie was a graduate of Westtown School, and attended Bennington College and Villanova University. Dorrie had many interests. She was an avid gardener and active member of Jenkins Arboretum. Dorrie learned to speak Spanish fluently and looked for any opportunity to use it. Although not a Native American herself, she followed the Native American traditions and was a leader in her pipe group. She loved to travel. As a young girl Dorrie went to Europe and the Middle East, and even sailed on the old Queen Mary. In her adult years she continued to travel to many places including Antarctica and Iceland. Dorrie loved all animals, especially her dogs. Dorrie was a loving mother to two children Alexandra (Bruce) West of West Chester, and Robert (Sara) Sellers of Drumore. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma Stowe and Mary Grace Leas.
