Notes for Frederick Charles Jr. FIECHTER
Frederick C. Fiechter Jr., 90, who practiced general, corporate and antitrust law in Philadelphia for nearly five decades, died of heart failure Saturday at the Masonic Home in Lafayette Hill.
Before recently entering the Masonic Home, he had been a longtime resident of Plymouth Meeting.
From shortly after World War II until the mid-1980s, Mr. Fiechter practiced law in Center City. He also taught as an adjunct at the law schools of the University of Pennsylvania and Temple University.
He grew up in Wyndmoor and graduated from Northeast High School in 1928; he earned a bachelor's degree from Harvard College in 1932.
After he received a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1935, he served in the Navy during World War II.
Mr. Fiechter was involved with several organizations, including serving as president of the Germantown Historical Society and as a trustee of the Livengrin Foundation from its founding in 1966. He was a member of the Union League, the Harvard Club, and the New Helvetic and Swiss Benevolent Societies. He attended the Plymouth Monthly Meeting of Friends for close to 50 years.
Mr. Fiechter is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jerene; sons Frederick 3d, Jacques, Jonathan and Bayard; and six grandchildren.
Plans for a memorial service were incomplete. Burial is private.
