Notes for Levi Griffith COOCH
LEVI GRIFFITH COOCH, of Cooch's Bridge, Delaware; b. there 17th February, 1803; d. there 7th February, 1869; was a member of a mounted body of citizens who met the Marquis DE LAFAYETTE at the Pennsylvania-Delaware States line on the occasion of his visit to the United States in October, 1824, and acted as one of his escort during his triumphant passage through Delaware; was member of Delaware House of Representatives from New Castle County, Delaware, November, 1846, and November, 1848; m. 3d April, 1838, Sarah Conant WILKINS, b. 17th September, 1812, d. 8th May, 1900, dau. of Joseph and Mary C. (BEDFORD) WILKINS, of Baltimore, Maryland.
