Notes for Hugh E. BALDERSTON
Hugh E. Balderston, 83, formerly of Woodcrest Villa, died Sunday at the Mennonite Home, 1520 Harrisburg Pike, after a three-month illness.
Balderston was a supervisor at Rohm & Haas Co., Philadelphia, for 40 years, retiring in 1976.
He moved to the Lancaster area in 1983.
He was a member of Church of the Apostles, United Church of Christ, Lancaster.
A square dance caller, Balderston also enjoyed hunting, traveling, bowling, playing cards and solving crossword puzzles.
He was a graduate of Newtown High School and attended Drexel University.
Born in Newtown, he was the son of the late William P. and Mary Eastburn Balderston.
His wife, Pauline "Polly" Schaaf Balderston, died in 1995.
Surviving are two sons, Richard H. of Lancaster and Thomas W. of Boca Raton, Fla.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
