Notes for Lawrence Leo Jr. WORRILOW

Lawrence L. Worrilow, 77, of Montgomery, Ala., a former Sun Oil Co. employee, died April 16 at Cedar Crest Nursing Home in Montgomery, Ala.
Born in Delaware County, Mr. Worrilow was the son of the late Lawrence L. Worrilow who died April 4, 1946 and Gertrude E. Wier Worrilow who died Nov. 30, 1953. He lived in Trainer for many years before moving to Montgomery, Ala.
Mr. Worrilow was employed by Sun Oil for 40 years as a dock worker until his retirement. During his time with Sun, he also worked on the ships.
A World War II veteran, he served in the 17th Airborne Division and took part in the Battle of the Bulge in Belgium and was wounded in action on Jan. 17, 1945.
He was the recipient of the Purple Heart, the Good Conduct medal, the American Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal, the European, African, Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with three bronze stars. During his service in Europe, he took part in five combat parachute jumps between 1944 and 1945.
Mr. Worrilow served from April 13, 1943 to Nov. 5, 1945.
Husband of Helen C. Kaufmann Worrilow, who died in 1977, he is survived by a son, Lawrence L. Worrilow Jr. of Montgomery, Ala.; a daughter, Patricia Ann Worrilow of Trainer; four brothers, Edward Worrilow of Drexel Hill, Robert Worrilow of Upper Chichester, William Worrilow of Middletown and Raymond Worrilow of North East, Md.; three granddaughters and one grandson.
The funeral and calling hours begin at 9 a.m. Monday at the Kaniefski, Kendus, D'Anjolell Memorial Home, 3900 W. 9th St., Trainer, where the service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Burial is in Lawn Croft Cemetery, Lower Chichester.
