Notes for Paul E. HANNUM

Paul E. Hannum, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away at his home on Saturday, Dec. 24, 2011.
He was born in Uwchlan on May 9, 1928, a son of the late Edgar A. (Bud) and Mary Rice Hannum.
He was the husband of Sara F. Hannum. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Feb. 21, 2012.
Paul was a lifetime self-employed farmer.
The three main passions of his life were family, farming and fox hunting. He began following the hounds on his pony at the age of 9, had his own pack of hounds from his late teens until he passed away, hunted on horseback into his 70s, then enjoyed the sport on his four-wheeler until early 2011.
While living in Chester County, Paul served as a member of the Downingtown School Authority and was chairman of Chester County ASCS office for nine years.
He and his family moved to their farm in Lancaster County in 1986. He was a Fulton Township supervisor for 18 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Patricia Hannum and her children, Travis and Corinne, his daughter, Teresa Hannum, wife of H. Thomas Kirk, and their children, April, Troy, and Amber, all of whom knew they were dearly loved by Paul.
There will be a viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 29, at Reynolds Funeral & Cremation Services Inc., 144 E. State St., Quarryville.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 30, at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 2501 Conestoga Road (Route 401), Chester Springs, with Pastor Tom Lefever officiating.
A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church on Friday.
Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
