Notes for Norman Thomas DEMPSEY
Norman Thomas Dempsey, 92, died on June 26, 2007, at Millcroft in Newark.
Dempsey was born June 19, 1915, to George and Louise Dempsey at a location in Pike Creek Valley on a farm. He graduated from Newark High School in 1934 and attended Goldey Beacom College. He was a lifetime time member of Harmony Grange # 12 and a member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Delaware.
He is survived by his two sons, Tom and his wife, June, and Rodney; two grandchildren, Crystal and Chris; three brothers, Melvin, Louis and Gene; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, who died on June 22. The couple had just celebrated their 67th anniversary. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Ferris; and his sister, Dorothy Nelson.
A funeral service was held on Friday, June 29, at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 525 Polly Drummond Hill, Newark. Burial was in the church cemetery.
