Edd W. Zug Jr., 78, of 365 Peters Creek Road, Peach Bottom, died unexpectedly Thursday at home. He had been under a physician's care.
He was the husband of Dorothy Supplee Zug. They had been married for more than 58 years.
Born in West Chester County, New York, he was a son of the late Edd W. Sr. and Elizabeth Miller Zug.
Zug owned and operated a farm for more than 30 years.
He lived in Peach Bottom for 22 years, moving from Westtown, Chester County.
Zug was a member of Goshen Grange 121 for more than 58 years. He was also a past master of the Grange.
He was a 25-year member of the former Interstate Milk Producers, now the Atlantic Dairy Cooperative. He was also a member of the Agway Co-op.
In 1987, Zug was named the Outstanding Cooperator of the Lancaster County Conservation District.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Edward L. of Peach Bottom; a daughter, Betsy E., wife of Henry Huber of Lincoln University; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and five sisters, Edna, wife of Clayton Shank of Nine Points, Miriam Dry, Jane Pepple and Janet Scott, all of Oxford; and Lois Thompson of West Chester.
