David W. Mathewson
On February 16, 2006, at Christiana Hospital, David W. Mathewson, of Wilmington, DE, suddenly passed away.
David was a graduate of Wilmington Christian School, McKean High School, Wesley College, and Ohio Northern University. He worked for several years at Wilmington Trust Co. as an assistant branch manager. He also worked at Teachers Service Corp, Zeneca, formerly ICI, West Coast Video, Kiss Care Pest Control, and lastly J.C. Ehrlich Pest Control. David enjoyed a great love of music with his son, Jeffrey, the outdoors, and had an extreme love of history and religion, which he shared with his youngest son, Christopher Everett.
He was predeceased by his father, Brigadier General Frank L. Mathewson, Jr., in 2000. David is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 17 years, Elizabeth Baldwin Mathewson; his mother, Margaret M. Mathewson; his 5 children, Brian David, Jeffrey Michael, Weslyn Jayne, Andrew James, and Christopher Everett, all of Wilmington; and 2 grandchildren, Gabriel Michael and Valantra Renee.
The funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, February 23, 2006, at the CHANDLER FUNERAL HOME, 7230 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, where friends may call 2 hours prior. Interment will be held in Lower Brandywine Cemetery.
