SAMS, MARY ANN, 56, of Inverness, formerly of St. Petersburg, died Tuesday (Jan. 7, 2003) at H. Lee Moffit Cancer Center, Tampa. Born in the Panama Canal Zone, she came to St. Petersburg in 1959, then moved to Inverness. She was a secretary for GTE Directories in St. Petersburg. She was a 1964 graduate of Dixie Hollins High School and volunteered at the Historical Society in Citrus County. She was Protestant. Survivors include her husband of 20 years, Russell; a son, Robert Pic, Brandon; a daughter, Debbie Jackson, Seminole; three stepsons and one stepdaughter; a brother, Winchell Pennock, Portland, Ore.; and nine grandchildren. National Cremation Society, St. Petersburg.
