Elsie M. Woodward
Age 91, formerly of Newark, DE died Monday October 17, 2011. Born in Hockessin, DE, daughter of the late S. Leslie McCormick and Eliza Burns McCormick, she resided most of her life in Newark.
Mrs. Woodward was Assistant Treasurer of Farmers Bank in Newark, DE until her retirement. She was graduated from Newark High School in 1938. She was a former member of Newark Country Club, a longtime member of the Red Clay Creek Presbyterian Church, where she was married in 1941, in more recent years a member of the Newark United Methodist Church, and an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).
She was the wife of the late Donald P. Woodward and is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Donald and Nancy Woodward of Sun Prairie, WI; a daughter and son-in-law, Judith W. and Bruce Jones of Langhorne, PA; four grandchildren, Mark E. Jones of Minnetonka, MN, Erin K. and Michael Kusmiesz of Ringoes, NJ, Stephen D. and Emily Woodward of Madison, WI, Andrew R. and Sally Woodward of Woodridge, IL; and three great-grandchildren, Allison and Katelyn Kusmiesz and Maxwell Woodward.
A private family funeral service with burial at Hockessin Friends Meeting Cemetery was held earlier this week.
