Ellis P. Cunningham of West Chester

Ellis P. Cunningham, 88, of West Chester, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2007, at Hickory House Nursing Home.
He was the husband of the late Anna Glauner Cunningham, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage.
Born in West Whiteland, he was the son of the late Kersey and Beula Pierce Cunningham.
Mr. Cunningham was employed as a machinist for 18 years with Schramm Inc. before his retirement in 1981.
He was a member of Grove Methodist Church and the Pennsylvania Keystoners camping club. He was an assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 83 of Lionville and Troop 55 of Grove.
Mr. Cunningham raised exotic chickens and enjoyed feeding his backyard birds. He is remembered as an avid naturalist and for decades of selfless community service.
He is survived by his nine children, John Cunningham of Nampa, Idaho, Professor Glenn Cunningham of Mechanicsburg, Ronnie Taylor of Larwell, Ind., Joan Alberts of West Chester, Eleanor Pavlik of Honey Brook, Faye Webb of Columbia City, Ind., Patti-Jo Ketterman of Wellsville, Lorna Dzialo of Yarmouth, Maine, and Lynne Kelly of Winton, Calif.; brother, Harry Cunningham of West Chester; sisters, Eleanor Dutt of Downingtown and Jane Biondi of Coatesville; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by three brothers.
A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 17, at Grove United Methodist Church, Boot and Grove roads, West Chester, where family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
Interment will be in Northwood Cemetery, Downingtown.
Memorial contributions may be made to The National Audubon Society, Department W, 700 Broadway, New York, NY 10003.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by the James J. Terry Funeral Home, Downingtown.
