Notes for Marvin B. BRACKIN

Marvin B. Brackin, 87, of Coatesville, died of natural causes Tuesday at Pocopson Home, West Chester.
He retired in 1982 as a safety inspector with the former Lukens Steel Co. He also worked part time with West Caln Police Department.
Brackin served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Europe with Battery A, 602nd Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion and received four bronze Battle Stars.
A member of Wagontown Fire Co., he served as president, vice-president, treasurer and chaplain.
He was a member of the former Coatesville Presbyterian Church, the Lukens Veterans Guild, Desoto Club of America and Veterans of Foreign Wars, Coatesville.
Born in Londonderry Township, he was the son of the late Walter H. and Emma R. Burnight Brackin Sr.
He was married 53 years to Laura Hocker Brackin.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Rahn G. Brackin of Downingtown and Corey L. Brackin, married to Kathy of West Chester; and a sister, Violet Althouse of Lancaster.
