Notes for Melchior Lodor EBRIGHT
Melchior Ebright had a first marriage to Hannah Derrick, who died April 6, 1824, Delaware Co, PA, bur. at St. Martin's Churchyard, Marcus Hook, DE Co, PA. Her father, Zachariah Derrick, died Sept 19, 1921, leaving his widow Rachel and four children, Hannah, wife of Melchior Ebright, and 3 sons, Zachariah, Isaac & Joseph. (Del. Co. Hist. Society, CFB, Vol. 23, pg. 55) Hannah's children were Sarah Louisa, b. 11-1-1812, and Hannah.b. between 1813 and 1824 when she died. Her stone at St. Martins was destroyed before the WPA project os 1936-1937 recording the stones, but her name is on the church records found at the Hist. Society in PHL.Melchior's second marriage on July 3, 1825, at Marcus Hook, DE Co, PA to Prudence Ella Pierce, b. 1801, d. after him (he d. April 24, 1875). They
had Zachariah, Geo. Washington & Lydia.
