Notes for Dorothy CROWE
Dorothy C. Wilson Gillen
Dorothy passed away peacefully on October 7, 2011. She was born in Wilmington in 1923 to the late G. Donald and Clara Pierson Crowe. She graduated from P.S. DuPont High School and Beacom Business School. She worked briefly for the DuPont Company and later was a fashion model for John Wannamakers. For most of her life, she was a fabulous homemaker.
She was happily married to her high school sweetheart, Robert Wilson, for 40 years until his death in 1982. She was lucky to find love a second time when she married Eugene (Buzzy) Gillen in 1990. They shared a wonderful 18 years together until his passing in 2008.
Dorothy was also predeceased by her sister, C. Josephine Carter and her brother, G. Donald Crowe.
Dorothy was a wonderful mother and role model for her four daughters, Nancy and her husband, Bob McCormack of Wilmington, Deborah J. Wilson of Wilmington, Cynthia and her husband, Randy Kehrer of Landenberg, PA, and Barbara and her husband, Phillip Brown of Chicago, IL. She doted on her seven grandchildren, Stephanie M. Fields, Kelly M. Cross, Lauren M. Dzielak, Derek R. Emeson, Carly A. Emeson, Whitley L. Kehrer and Devon A. Kehrer. Dorothy dearly loved her four great-grandchildren, Connor and Kaitlyn Cross, and Bailey and Logan Fields. Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews and numerous friends.
