Elsie R. Jefferis of Coatesville Elsie R. Jefferis, 93, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 30, 2011 at home in Coatesville. Born and raised near Romansville, she is survived by her son Enoch R. Raysor (Peggy) of Coatesville, her sister Vera Connell of Pennsburg, a sister-in-law Muriel "Merle" Jefferis of Downingtown, four grandchildren, Jeffrey C. Raysor (Heather) of Mebane, N.C., Michael E. Raysor (Joni) of Burlington, N.C., David M. Raysor of Coatesville, and Timothy C. Raysor (Chrissie) of West Chester, seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husbands, Enoch R. Raysor, Sr. (d. 1948) and Malcolm L. Jefferis (d. 1988), and her sisters Mary Cooper Speelman and Anne Westwood. Elsie worked as a beautician for many years, as well as at Embreeville State Hospital, Chemical Leamans, and retired from Lukens in 1982. An avid animal lover (esp. cats), she was also very interested in antiques and flea-marketing. She lived most of her life in Coatesville and was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. Funeral services will be private.
