Obituary and Funeral Notice printed January 7, 1942 in the Daily Local News, West Chester, Chester County, PA:
Evan Sharp, of 330 South Darlington Street, passed away last night at the Chester County Hospital where he had been under treatment since tuesday. He was 72 years old and had been in failing health for more than a year. Mr. Sharp was a life-long resident of Chester County and had been a farmer for many years. He had lived in West Chester the last twelve years. His wife, Mrs. Jennie Sharp, survives; and the following children: Edna, wife of Dennis Mahoney, of Willistown; Pusey Sharp, of West Grove; Clara wife of Leadom Smith, of new Garden; Elizabeth, wife of Clarence McCorkle, of West Chester; John Sharp, who is in the United States Army, stationed at Camp Blanding. Fla.; and Emma, wife of Charles Archer, of West Chester. There are eleven grandchildren. Mr. Sharp was the last of his immediate family.
