Notes for Allen Martin LUKENS
ALLEN LUKENS, SR. Allen Martin Lukens, Sr., 78, of Lansdale, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of 60 years to Jeanette (Zehner) Lukens. Born January 22, 1933 in Norristown, Allen was the son of the late Harry and Florence (Crouthamel) Lukens. Allen graduated from the former Lansdale High School in 1950. Mr. Lukens owned and operated many businesses throughout his life, most notably Lukens' Refuse Service, Coopersburg Laundromat, and A. L. Vending. In later years, Allen worked at Lemmon Pharmaceuticals, which is now known as Teva. In addition to his wife, Allen is survived by nine children, Linda Davenport (Charles/ Skip), Sandra Swinney (Joseph), and Michael Lukens (Robin), all of Sellersville, Diane Stoudt (Ernie) and Allen Martin Lukens, Jr. (Carolyn), both of Pennsburg, Shirley Lehman (Steve) of Carlisle, Joyce Heverly (Dave) of Riegelsville, Dale Lukens (Henriette) of Quakertown, and Barry Lukens (Emma) of Perkasie; 29 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Lukens (Phyllis) of San Antonia, TX. Allen was preceded in death by an infant son, Glenn, who died in 1963. A service to celebrate the life of Allen will be held 12 Noon Friday, Aug. 5, at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale with an opportunity to view and greet the family at 10AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Telford.
