Edith M. Bird of Landenberg Edith M. Bird, 97, of Landenberg, formerly of Kennett Square, passed away at HCR Manor Care, Pike Creek, on Thursday, July 21, 2011. She was the wife of the late Warren J. Bird, who passed away in 1983, and with whom she shared 50 years of marriage. Born in Fair Hill, Md., she was the daughter of the late William and Alva Witzel Barber. She was a cafeteria worker at the Kennett High School, retiring in 1978 after 35 years of service. Mrs. Bird was a member of the Kennett Area Senior Center and enjoyed being with her grandchildren. She is survived by one son, Michael J. Bird and his wife Joan of Landenberg, four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Service and burial will be private.
