Notes for Helen A. LESLIE

Helen L. Leedom, 88, of Newtown, PA, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2011 surrounded by her family. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Mrs. Leedom lived most of her life in Newtown. She was a graduate of Newtown High School, Class of 1940. She was a member of the Newtown Presbyterian Church for 70 years, Pickering Manor Auxiliary and the Washington Crossing Card Collectors Club.
Helen was dedicated to her husband, family, friends and home. She had a keen mind, loved to learn and was an avid reader. Caring for and giving to others is what made her happiest. Her wish is that we celebrate her life by showing kindnesses and doing good deeds for others each day going forward. Let us remember Helen for her faith in God, and love and service to her family and friends. She will be deeply missed.
Daughter of the late Harry F. and Helen P. Leslie, formerly of Newtown, she was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and beloved husband, Vincent E. Leedom with whom she shared 67 years of marriage. She has two loving daughters, Kaye L. Mohline and her husband Douglas, Barbara L. Tanner and her husband Tim, three grandchildren, Tim S. Tanner, Jr., and his wife Jody, John D. Mohline, Amy Lynne Schlitter and her husband Jay, three great grandchildren, Donald J. Tanner, Allie Nicole Tanner and Peyton Lynne Schlitter, along with several nieces and nephews who were also special to her.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family under the direction of the Swartz-Givnish Funeral Home, Newtown, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of the Newtown Presbyterian Church, P.O.Box 287, Newtown, Pa 18940 or the Bucks County Free Library/Doylestown Branch, 150 South Pine Street, Doylestown, PA 18901.
