Notes for Barbara Carr BISPHAM

Barbara Carr Bispham Paschall died April 14, 2012 in her home town of Wilmington, Delaware. Born in 1931, she was the daughter of Julia Townsend and Edward Koons Bispham. Barbie attended the Tatnall School and graduated from St. Catherine's School in Richmond, Virginia.

Barbie belonged to the former Junior Board of the Delaware Hospital, the National Society of Colonial Dames in Delaware and was a volunteer for the Winterthur Guild. She was one of the founders of the Tatnall School's Summer Camp Program. She hosted historical tours of Wilmington and Philadelphia, and was a student of the University of Delaware's Academy of Life Long Learning. Her major interests were bridge, antiques, theater, music, and above all her love of animals. She frequently adopted stray dogs and cats. She loved playing hostess and enthusiastically welcomed friends and family as well as enjoyed visiting them all across the country.

She was predeceased by her parents and two brothers, Edward K. and Harry Bispham. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Charles Bayard Paschall, Jr. and four children: Charles Bayard Paschall, III of Columbus, OH (wife Anne); Barbara Carr Southwood of Portland, Oregon (husband Bill); Carolynn Bispham Paschall-Keeter of Boulder, Colorado (husband Paul) and Edward Marshall Paschall of Wilmington (wife Janet). Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
