Notes for Edward Koons III BISPHAM

Edward "Brud" Koons Bispham III, 87, of Rockland, DE, died peacefully on Sunday June 5, 2011, while traveling with his wife to Bucharest, Romania.
Mr. Bispham was born in Wilmington, DE on July 10, 1923 and graduated from Wilmington Friends School, class of '41. He attended Rutgers Preparatory School and graduated from Cornell University, class of '48. He served in the US Army and participated in the Battle of the Bulge in World War II. He started his career with the DuPont Company in Martinsville, VA and retired in Wilmington in 1987; he thoroughly enjoyed 25 years of life after DuPont.
Edward was the longest serving member of the Friends of Old Drawyers Church in Odessa, DE and a long time member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. He was a proud member of the Society of Colonial Wars and the Recess Club. It was his pleasure to serve the Goodstay Gardens in Wilmington. Edward loved the history of the places he traveled. Brud was a kind and gentle man, he will be sorely missed.
Edward is survived by Charlotte, his loving wife of 59 years; his sister, Barbara Paschal of Wilmington, DE; his son, Harrison and his children Kate and Gus all of Sidney, ME; his daughter, Bunny and son-in-law Benjamin and their daughter Sarah, all of Bloomfield Hills, MI and daughter, Emily of Chicago, IL; his son, David and daughter-in-law Bigi and their children Nina and Stella, all of Denver, CO; his son Eddie of Delray Beach, FL.
A memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Monday the 13th of June at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1502 W. 13th Street, Wilmington, DE.
