Notes for Robert Allen KING
Robert A. King, Sr., age 79 of Media, PA, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2013 surrounded by his loving family.
Robert was born in Media and raised in Upper Providence, PA. He attended Media High School and served in the United States Navy.
A talented craftsman, Robert (Kingie) worked as a master stair builder and finish carpenter until his retirement.
Robert's true loves were his family and The United States of America. He enjoyed learning, reading, military history, music, Phillies baseball, lively debate and jumping in the car with the family to go on spontaneous adventures.
Robert played Delco League baseball and shared his love of the game with local youths as an active coach for many years in the Media Little and Babe Ruth Leagues.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents Dorothy (Wilkins) King and Harry E King, his brother Bud King and first wife Elsie (Skinter) King.
Robert is survived and will be dearly missed by his loving wife of thirty-seven years Deborah (Wilson) King; his children, Cynthia (Jay) Aigeltinger, Sharon K. Blyler, Robert A. (Stephenie) King, Jr, Heather (Edward) Moore, Eugene King, Andrew King, Catherine King, and Matthew King; his siblings, brother Raymond King and sister Dolly (King) Wood; his beautiful grandchildren, Caroline, Isabella, Hannah, Eddie, Shawn and 4 legged grandchild, best friend and companion, Scooby the boxer.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at the J. Nelson Rigby Funeral Home, 1 W. Baltimore Ave. Media.
Calling: 6:00-7:00 PM
Memorial services: private. Burial at sea.
