Notes for Margaret Frances CARR
Margaret Frances "Peg" (nee Carr) Wilkins, age 94 of Media Pa, passed away on February 10, 2014 in Naaman's Creek Country Manor Nursing Home while in the care of Heartland Hospice. Born in Chester to the late Frank and Margaret (Broderick) Carr where she was raised and educated, graduating from Chester High in 1937. She furthered her education graduating from Sleeper's Business School after which she worked in several retail businesses in Chester. She met and married the love of her live Wesley "Bud" Wilkins, in 1942 during WWII. They lived in Fort Belvoir, VA., until his deployment. Following WWII they settled in Media where they spent their entire married life. Peg's life centered on being the best mother and wife that she could be, and she did not disappoint. She was a housewife who was always at home for her children during their school years, and enjoyed being with family. Later in life she worked in the cafeteria of several schools in the Rose Tree Media School District, retiring at age 87. She was a member of Nativity BVM Church in Media. Peg was an animal lover and always had a pet dog for company. Pre-deceased by her husband Wesley Wilkins III of 69 years (2011). Survivors: Her sons Gerald (Kathleen) of Garnet Valley, and Gary (Wendy) of Fortesque, NJ. Grandchildren Brett, Todd, Devin, and Shannon; great-grandchildren Evan and Ryan. Services: Relatives and Friends are invited to her Funeral Mass Sat., 10a.m., in St. Joeseph's Catholic Church, 3255 Concord Road, Aston, Pa. 19014. Calling 9-9:45 in Church. Interment: Calvary Cemetery, Media.
