Notes for Freida M. LEWIS

Freida M. Cozzone, 80, of East Brandywine, passed away suddenly, with her family by her side, on Friday, April 10, 2009, at Reading Hospital.

She was the beloved wife of the late Ernest C. Cozzone Sr., with whom she shared 55 years of marriage at the time of his passing in 2005.

Born in West Chester, she was the daughter of the late Harry F. and Cora Mae Bones Lewis.

She attended Downingtown schools.

Freida was employed for 20 years as the housekeeping supervisor at Hickory House Nursing Home, retiring in 1995.

She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and spending time with her fiance, Bob.

She enjoyed reading, gardening, traveling and vacations at the beach.

Mrs. Cozzone is survived by her children, Ernest "Ernie" C. Cozzone Jr. of Guthriesville, Debi S. Kirkner and her husband, Bill, of Pennsburg, Jackie M. Horrex and her husband, Jim, of Downingtown, Glenn E. Cozzone and his wife, Beth, of Loveland, Ohio, and Denise C. Donovan and her husband, Todd, of Glenmoore; fiance, Robert Charles Thomason of West Chester; brothers, Samuel Lewis of Coatesville and William E. Lewis of West Chester; sisters, Gertrude Hannum of Coatesville, Evelyn Sciarretta of Downingtown and Marian Morelli of Malvern; and six grandchildren, Christopher J. Smith, Amanda M. and Phillip J. Horrex, Eric M. and Sandra L. Cozzone, and Nick M. Lang.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Cozzone was predeceased by her siblings, Cora Watters, Margaret Dowlin, Harry F. Lewis and Dorothy Lewis.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, at James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, where family and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m.

Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Downingtown.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the East Brandywine Fire Company, 2096 Bondsville Road, Downingtown, PA 19335.
