Notes for Cora Mae LEWIS
Cora Mae Lewis Watters, 81, of Glenmoore, died at her home on Friday, Jan. 23, 2009.
Wife of Walter Watters, she was born in Honey Brook on June 5, 1927, the daughter of the late Harry Jr. and Cora Bones Lewis.
A graduate of Downingtown High School, she was co-owner of Watters Trucking Co. of Glenmoore for 30 years before retiring.
Cora made quilts and enjoyed gardening, reading, swimming, collecting antiques and making arts and craft items.
In addition to her husband of 58 years, she is survived by two daughters, Judith Anderson and Victoria Crist, both of Glenmoore; a son, Walter E. (Ed) Watters Jr. and wife, Donna, of Glenmoore; and four grandchildren, Matthew and Courtney Crist, and Meredith and Hayley Watters, all of Glenmoore; two brothers, Samuel and William Lewis; and four sisters, Gertrude Hannum, Freida Cozzone, Marion Morelli and Evelyn Sciarretta.
A sister, Margaret Dowlin, preceded her in death.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Wednesday, Jan. 28, at 11 a.m. at the Maclean-Chamberlain Funeral Home Inc., 339 W. Kings Highway (Route 340), Wagontown.
Interment will follow in Forks of the Brandywine Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Jan. 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
In Cora's memory, those who wish may make contributions to the American Cancer Society, 1615 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382.
