Notes for Marie LAMBORN
Marie (Lamborn) Desmond, age 80, passed away peacefully, at home, on Sunday, April 2, 2006, with her family at her side.
Marie was born October 4, 1925 in Hockessin, DE to the late Paul and Ruth Lamborn. She worked at St. Elizabeth's School as a secretary and retired in 1985. She was the first woman eucharistic minister at St. Elizabeth Church in the 1970s. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, laughter, and non-judgmental attitude, and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A loving wife and devoted mother and grandmother, Marie will be dearly missed by her husband of 58 years, John C. Desmond; 2 daughters, Jane Desmond Glassing, and her husband, Elmer, and Rosie Craig; 4 sons, Jim, and his wife, Mary Beth, Jack, and his wife, Berta, Paul, and his wife, Debbie, and Bob, and his wife, Debbie; former daughter-in-law, Brenda Morgan; 2 sisters, Pat Begley and Lois Fuqua; and 1 brother, Jim. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Drew Desmond; son-in-law, J. Fred Craig; brother, Paul Lamborn; and sisters, Theresa Zimmerman and Ruth Ann Lamborn.
Friends and family may call from 6-8 pm on Thursday evening, April 6, at the DOHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 3200 Limestone Rd., Pike Creek. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, April 7, at 10 am, at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Rd., Sherwood, Park. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery.
