Notes for Samuel Penn Jr. GARNETT
Samuel Penn Garnett Jr. of Downingtown Samuel Penn Garnett, Jr., of Downingtown, passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2011, the day after his 75th birthday, surrounded by his large, loving family. "Penn" was born January 3, 1936, the eldest child of the late Jesse Trimble Garnett and Sam Garnett, Sr. He was a 1954 graduate of (formerly) Scott High School in Coatesville. He was retired and enjoyed making his birdhouses, tinkering in his garage and most of all, attending his grandchildren's sporting events and taking them fishing. "Pop-Pop" enjoyed, most of all, being home surrounded by his family. Penn is survived by his loving wife of over 53 years, Yolanda (Ippolito) Garnett; his five children, David Garnett and partner (Jay Sitler) of Wilmington, Del., John A (Kimberly) Garnett of Downingtown, Kelly G. (Stephen) Wojtowicz of Centreville, Md., Susan G. (Michael) Oddo of Coatesville and Roxanna G. (Gerald) Hasaka of Downingtown. "Pop-Pop" was loved and cherished beyond words by his grandchildren, Rebecca, Joelle, Olivia and Nathan Wojtowicz; Joe, Meghan and Kira Garnett; Mikey, Jordan Marie and Jenna Oddo; Gregory Hasaka and baby brother, due very soon. Penn is also survived by a sister, Virginia G. (John) Rodgers of Gordonville and two brothers, Charles H. (Pamela) Garnett of Dallas, Pa. and Philip D. Garnett of Chatsworth, Ga.; also a cousin, Susan Trimble Silvey of Santa Rosa, Calif., a great-uncle, Carmen Garnett of Washington, D.C. and many nieces and nephews. Penn was preceded in death by two infant grandchildren, Jacob Wojtowicz and Mary Grace Hasaka, where he is now in heaven being their "Pop-Pop". Relatives and friends are invited to his Memorial Mass, 11 a.m., Monday, January 10, at St. Joseph Church, 335 Manor Ave., Downingtown, PA
