80, of Clearwater, died Tuesday (Jan. 2, 2007) at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater.

He was born in Philadelphia, and came here in 1979 from Oreland, Pa., where he retired as supervisor after 30 years with Bell Telephone Co. A Navy veteran of World War II, he served two tours in the Pacific and American theaters. He was involved in the safety and rescue operations in Winding River, Pa., and New Jersey. He was a member and elder of Hope Presbyterian Church of Largo, and a former deacon in his church in Oreland. He served 17 years as a head usher at Ruth Eckerd Hall and was a member of Suncoast Racing Club, Florida Inboard Racing Club, Telephone Pioneers of America, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, and Pinwar Antique Auto Club, Largo. He was a member and past governor of the Pennsylvania Mayflower Society, a participant and official referee in the American Power Boat Association, and a 49-year member of the Masonic Lodge, Jenkintown, Pa. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Elaine S.; a son, Arthur T. III, Knoxville, Tenn.; a daughter, Amy L. Delaat, Queensland, Australia; a brother, William E., Ambler, Pa.; and four grandchildren. National Cremation Society, Clearwater.
