Notes for Helen TALLEY
Helen Talley Beebe, age 99 of Wilmington, DE, passed away Friday, August 19, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 1, 1917 to the late Sadie and Edison Talley. She was predeceased by her siblings, Edith Talley, Eber Talley and Hazel Leflar.
Helen was a hairdresser and ran her own shop on Concord Pike for many years. She was a member of the first, Talleyville All Women’s Drum and Bugle Corp. Helen was a life time member of the Talleyville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, with over 70 years of service. She was honored by the State Firefighters Association, being added to their Hall of Recognition. She was also a long time member of Grace Episcopal Church.
Helen is survived by her daughters, Gail. L. Haley (John) and Linda L. Helie (Wilfred-deceased); grandchildren, Eric Haley, Nancy Steele (Mark), Robin Newsome (John) Ashley McGlone (Michael) and Kelly Helie; step grandchildren, Lydia Radcliffe (Jeff), Carol Smith (Gordon), Louise Frist (Wayne), Edward Helie and Raymond Helie; thirteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at Grace Episcopal Church, 4906 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 25, 2016. Interment will be held privately.
