C. Herbert Fry, 92, of Berwyn, PA passed away August 11, 2018. Herbert was born in Pottstown, PA on June 27, 1926 to the late Clarence Herbert and Rosa Savage Fry. Herb was the beloved husband of the late Barbara McGuire Fry, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage. Herb served in the army in Germany during the Second World War. After graduating from Syracuse University, Herb entered the business field. He had a successful career at Acme Markets, where he rose to the position of Vice President and Corporate Controller for many years until his retirement in 1992. Herb was an avid reader, bowler, and car racing fan. He was also a serious history buff. He served as president of the Tredyffrin-Easttown History Club for a number of years and authored a book on local history. He also co-authored a book with his late wife on the history of Trinity Presbyterian Church, where he was a member for almost 50 years. Herb is survived by his sons; James (Hai-Ping Cheng), David (Lisa), Joel, and his daughter Ann (Kara Shannon), his three grandchildren; David, Jared and Marrah and three great-grandchildren; Dylan, Jordan and Cora. A memorial service will be held on a later date at Trinity Presbyterian Church, Berwyn, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Herb’s memory to the Memorial Fund of Trinity Presbyterian Church, 640 Berwyn Avenue, Berwyn, PA 19312.
