At the age of 18, Edward Eyre Trainer was employed by his father in his cotton mill. In 1901, he became president of the Standard Spinning Company of Chester, Delaware Co, Pennsylvania. For many years, he was treasurer of the Chester Hospital.He was junior warden of St. Martin's Episcopal Church, Marcus Hook, Lower Chichester Twp, Delaware Co, Pennsylvania for 20 years.
