Notes for Robert ALISON

Dr. Alison was born in Chester county in 1789. He graduated in medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in 1819, and practised his profession until his death, May 4, 1854. He resided in Chatham, and Jennerville, Chester county, Penn. He married, May 27, 1839, Elizabeth Aitken, daughter of John and Jane Aitken, of Chester county. Jane Aitken was the daughter of Capt. James and Sarah (Gettys) McDowell of Chester county, Penn. (See Futhey & Cope's history of Chester county, Penn.). She was born in 1807; died Aug. 21, 1851, in Wilmington, Delaware.
