Notes for Edwin R. EVANS
Edwin R. Evans, 83, a retired Bell Telephone Co. installer, died Sept. 20 at Sunrise Assisted Living in Newtown.
Born, reared and educated in Media, Mr. Evans was a resident of Aston for 40 years. He was a graduate of Media High School.
He was an installer for Bell Telephone for more than 40 years.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Evans was a 50-year member of the Masons and the Shriners. He was a devoted family man.
He was the widower of Margaret O’Toole Evans, who died in 1995, the son of the late John H. and Helen Reilly Evans, and the brother of the late John Evans and Louise Miller.
Survivors: Daughter, Patricia A. Evans of Wallingford, Nether Providence; son, John B. Evans; brother, Richard Evans of Glen Mills, Concord; sister, Grace E. Detwiler of Perkasie; two grandsons; nieces; nephews.
Service: 11 a.m. Thursday, Minshall-Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Route 352) and Knowlton roads, Middletown.
Visitation: After 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial: Media Cemetery, Upper Providence.
